N-The-Flats
It's 4:30am friday morning, we get the flats boat launched
and we're off. After spending an hour getting our bait-fish,
we get down to business.
We speed down the Banana River Lagoon and settled on a classic
Florida shoreline when a 10lb redfish decided to make my day.
After fighting with him for nearly 10 minutes he decides to
swim between the fishing-guide's legs (capt Richard Bradley)
and give up before being netted. But the day wasn't over,
it climaxed when a school of fifty or more redfish swam right
in front of us as we waded with them in belly button deep
water. What a thrill! I'll never forget seeing that many big
fish in clear grass flats.
Imagine all this before 11:00am and we're back at Cocoa Beach
basking in the sun shortly after lunch with the wives. It
just doesn't get any better than this!
