Brad snagged these slightly used fruit of the looms.
We decided to release it since non of us knew the size limits and laws.

1st Annual
Don Patterson Invitational

"Fort Pierce for a weekend of awsome male bonding, father-son relationships and of-course fishing", Rev. Rocky VanHoose offered. You don't have to ask Capt. Richard twice about fishing the Treasure Coast on east central Florida, with it's giant snook, plentiful trout and redfish. I responded with a quick, "I'll be there"!

Captain Don Patterson and Rev. Rocky have been organizing an extended weekend of fishing with several friends and members from Island Community Church, culminating with a group of approximately fifteen people, five skiffs and loads of food and refreshments.

Anglers Included:
Digger-The boy can fish, actually caught and landed a snook on his own.
Ricky-Hooked and fought a 9 foot plus bull shark on 12 pound test for 10 minutes.
Ricky's father Paul-After practicing on his casting skills landed a delicious 4 pound mangrove snapper.
Brad-Fruit of the loom king (look left).
Don Patterson-Dominated the trip with more catch than any other angler. Bonita, trout, flounder, spanish mackeral and several other fish that "got away" (no surprise). Spooled twice on the same trip, I think he needs a bigger spool.
Kevin-The six year old that drives a boat like a pro and his father Tom that waited patiently for us while catching bait.
Mr. FunkHauser-The old salt of the group.
Rev. Rocky-Our spiritual leader with a fishing analogy in every sermon:-)
Rusty VanHoose-Blamed for bringing bananas on the boat. (the ultimate bad luck symbol amongst fishermen)
Tom Seaman - the jetty jockey, caught a
snook on his first cast.
Brian and Darin Bouck - still had energy left after 12 hours of fishing, they decided to go bowling and catch a movie before returning after midnight (diehard anglers).
Dante and Ralph Bustamante - Dock Master and Tire King - they kept our fishing fleet floating and the dock snook feeding.
Mike (Rusty roommate from college) proudly reigns as the catfish king.
Brad's son Joshua - found inexhaustable enegry after drinking five cans of Mountain Dew 'Code Red'.
Brian and Darin Bouck - took home a cooler of fillets including trout, flounder, and Bonita. Yes, we warned him of the questionable food quality of Bonita.

Wish I could remember everyone's name, but until Don or Rocky emails me a list of attendees, this will have to do.

Highlights of the trip included chicken fights in the flats, mosquitos at the "honey-hole", back aches at night from casting nets for hours on end, fighting sharks, watching snook at night, loosing BIG fish, catching underwear and having an inspirational meeting in the middle of the river.

Thankyou Don for a great time on the water. We all look forward to next year.
