Sebastian Inlet Fishing Guide

A Haven for Big Redfish and Trout

Monday July 16, 2018

Donald Knoke and company had a fish fest at Sebastian Inlet this November evening. "We fish for walleye in Wisconsin with minnows and worms, Captain Richard was using bait the size of the crappie we fish for up there. We Landed redfish that dwarfed the biggest walleye we catch and we did it in our tee-shirts in November!."

Every fall I make our fishing destination to Sebastian, Florida in the southern end of Brevard County to take my anglers out on a fishing cornacopia of angling delight. September starts the fall mullet run and by November the fish are starting to move inshore and toward their winter haunts in the Sebastian River and southward towards Jupiter Inlet and the Loxahatchee River. It's fun time of year and prepares us for the winter bite in the northern part of our County and Mosquito Lagoon.

It's always fun for me to turn people that have never fished for saltwater species and watch them put their heads around the fact that the bait we often use are bigger than many of the panfish they use up in the midwest. Catching bait can simply make their trip, but putting a big redfish, snook or tarpon on the end of their line usually blows their minds.

For all those cheese heads in Wisconsin... Take these guys advice and thaw out with Capt. Richard in East Central Florida.

Fishing Forecast

July - 2018 Fishing Forecast

It's hot and July proves to turn the temperatures up to firecracker levels as the Daytona 500 approaches and so does our nation's independence day. You won't find many cooperative fish on the Banana River Lagoon during July unless it's during the early morning hours or late evening. The lagoon's lack of tidal flow is it's downfall during the warmer months and extremely hot summers can almost stop the fish bite altogether during the daylight hours. Look northward toward the Mosquito Lagoon or south at Sebastian Inlet for better redfish and sea trout results. Snook can make a pretty good showing during the cooler mornings, but after the sun comes up to mid-morning strength look for the fishing to slow down quickly. You'll find excellent fishing out of Port Canaveral and on the beaches during July so ask your guide about fishing close to the beach during July and you won't be disapointed.

Inshore and Offshore Charter Fishing near Orlando and Cocoa Beach, Florida. Catch redfish, sea trout, tarpon, snook and many other saltwater gamefish aboard the world famous Lagooner flats fishing boat with renowned Captain Richard Bradley.

Captain Richard was great company on the boat. He's a blast to hang out with and will glady joke around with everyone. When it came to the fishing it was a tough day to start but we were able to find a school of drummer fish. He was able to spot a school of fish from his boat which was pretty cool. We caught a good 20-25 lb black drumfish which made the whole trip worth it. For sure recommend captain Richard.
