Wading For Redfish On The IRL
Imagine wading the clear cool shallow water during the
summer months in East Central Florida's
Indian River Lagoon. These angler's scored
big while wading off Merritt Island in
the Banana River Lagoon.
"The redfish
often school around Brevard County and if you are patient
and quiet you may get a chance to cast into the school or
wait for single redfish to swim stealthfully by", explains
seasoned fishing veteran and guide Captain Richard
Bradley. "I've had hundreds of redfish
swim within inches of me and actually brush my legs as they
pass by. It's exciting and fun to watch this giant reds
explode on your baits and lures in the clear waters near
Cocoa Beach
and Titusville, Florida while your down
on their level."
"During the summer months I often pursuade my anglers
to step into liquid and get wet while fishing for big reds
and seatrout. From experience, I've learned that wading
is much stealthier and produces bigger trout than from a
boat, even poling!" Captain Richard's developed HIS
style of sneaking people up on fish when the water is low
and bottom is hard. You'll see him quietly pulling
his boat's around while his anglers present offerings to
the fish.
