Port Canaveral Professional Fishing Charter Service

Tripletail are awesome eating fish that fight like brutes. You often find tripletail around floatsome, bouys or other structure and need a professional Port Canaveral fishing guide to show you the ropes. This day we found them around the mouth of Port Canaveral near bouys. How big do tripletail get? The tripletail above were just under 20 pounds, but they have been caught above forty at Port Canaveral.

Port Canaveral is known for BIG tripletails and loads of cobia during the spring. Triple tail will hang out at Port Canaveral during the late spring and summer and will make a showing again just before winter sets in.

"Getting a professional guide out of Port Canaveral is the best bet for finding and catching these illusive fish." explains native fishing guide, Captain Richard Bradley "We get huge tripletail at Port Canaveral and they seem to be getting bigger every year. After 9-11 Kennedy Space Center closed off the best tripletail fishing in the world and it's been more difficult to target tripletail but I have some secret spots and techniques that have proven to effective for the patient angler."

Port Canaveral Jewfish
Alias: Goliath Grouper

"I don't know, I guess I'll never be PC... I still call them jewfish even though they are trying to get us to call them Goliath Grouper. Somehow the 'David & Goliath story' is not the same as Jonah being eaten by some giant fish."

Jewfish got their name from the speculation that this was probably the fish that ate Jonah. A little trivia here: The bible never said a whale ate Jonah (a big fish ate Jonah). Jewfish get to be hundreds of pounds and they are showing up in good numbers around Port Canaveral. They are a totally restricted species and must be returned unharmed back into the water. "We lost a big Jewfish on this day (somewhere under 100 pounds) and had great fun with tripletail and tarpon, we even caught a nice shark."

"These fish are full of fight and usually readily eat when a bait is presented to them" explains Captain Richard Bradley
