Port Canaveral Charter Fishing Guide Service

Deep Sea Fishing offshore Florida's East Coast Brevard County and Space Coast Big Game Fishing for Kingfish, Grouper and Snapper.

Canaveral is famous for it's abundant sealife and sprawling continental shelf that juts out almost 35 miles east of Port Canaveral before spiraling down to the depths of the Gulf Stream and then to the outer canyons some 100 miles or so beyond the shoreline.

A typical day of fishing around Canaveral's shoals, ridges and wrecks will offer live baiting for king mackerel, amberjack and often the elusive cobia. During the spring run when the water temperature rises, the cobia migration is second to none off Port Canaveral's beaches. If the bottom fishing is cooperating, the snapper and grouper is always a good bet with anglers if they can "turn the handle Randel", which is our way of motivating our anglers to PULL THAT FISH IN before it swims in a hole and breaks you off.

During transition months in spring and fall you'll find dorado or mahi mahi, sailfish and other peligics making their way though Canaveral's indigo blue waters as they migrate up and down the coastline.

Departing Port Canaveral you'll take notice it's rock jetties and light house peering out to the Atlantic. Schools of Jack Crevalle swim anxiously around the water seeking to trounce on prey like piranha. On the buoy line you can seasonally sightfish for cobia and tripletail, while the more adventurous push further offshore for king mackerel, wahoo, mahi-mahi, sailfish and marlin. Pleasure has no boundaries here... there is something for everyone from the novice to the expert angler, Port Canaveral has the most fishing excitement anywhere!

October 2008 King Mackerel Fishing Update

Canaveral Kingfishing has been great this year and October is no different... with the exception of finding a calm enough day to proceed out to the ridges and wrecks to pursue these mackerels. When the water is calm enough and the ocean is cooperating the kings have been plentiful, but with fall approaching it has been an inconsistant month for clearing the end of the jetties pointing the bow to the approaching waves. Live bait fishing has proved to be challenging but our anglers have shown no difficulties in hooking a catching mackerel on dead or artificials when the bite is on. Often the kingfish will switch off for a period of time during the trip and then switch back on and that is when the fishing is really spectacular! Anglers often are running around the boat with multiple hookups and screaming at each other as lines get crossed and fish are boated and tossed in the cooler. It's Port Canaveral kingfishing at it's finest... I hope to see some of you for a King Mackerel fishing trip this October, but if the oceans don't cooperate... We'll do an inshore fishing trip instead. Keep the lines tight and screaming, Captain Richard

October 2008 Tripletail Fishing Update

Tripletail fishing in the fall can produce some of the biggest fish of the year and October is no exception. The only thing that will hold anglers back from fishing for large Canaveral tripletail during October is the wind and waves as the fall sets in so does the noreasterners and that will kill the anglers chances of pursuing these great tasting gamefish out of Port Canaveral. This October has been a hit and miss on the weather but when the weather has cooperated the tripletail fishing has been consistant and there's been some whoppers caught. Call Captain Gina and let her set up a fishing trip this fall for world record sized tripletail out of Port Canaveral with a Lagooner fishing guide.

October fishing out of Port Canaveral can be one of the best things an angler or person can do while visiting our area. You'll enjoy October's weather and if the ocean's not cooperating the inshore fishing usually is... so whether it's a day offshore for deep sea bottom fish or trolling for that Big Game opportunity, you're sure to have a great time on the water with our professional charter fishing captains.

Don't take my word for it... Call me today and we'll do our best to make the best day of fishing out of Port Canaveral possible. Captain Gina
